The Gap Between Where You Are and Where You Want to Be

Hello Reader,

Have you ever felt like there’s an invisible force holding you back from the life you dream about? You can see where you want to be, but something keeps you rooted in place. This gap between your current reality and your potential isn’t a sign of failure – it’s an invitation to grow.

Consider this: Every time you scroll through social media and feel that twinge of envy, every time you catch yourself saying “someday,” and every time you compromise on your dreams, you’re actually receiving valuable information. These moments are your inner compass pointing toward what matters most to you.

I remember working with a client who kept a journal of these “twinge moments” for a month. What emerged was a clear pattern – she wasn’t craving other people’s lives; she was craving permission to live her own life more boldly. Once she recognized this, everything shifted. She started taking small but significant steps toward her goals, and within six months, she had launched her own business.

This Week’s Tool: The Life Wheel Assessment Take 15 minutes to complete this powerful visualization exercise: 1. Draw a large circle and divide it into 8 segments, labeling each with a key life area: Career, Health, Relationships, Personal Growth, Finance, Fun/Recreation, Physical Environment, and Life Purpose 2. Rate your satisfaction in each area from 1-10 (1 being lowest, 10 highest) 3. Draw a line in each segment at your rating number, creating a “wheel” 4. Connect the lines to see how smooth or bumpy your wheel would be if it were to roll

This visual representation helps identify which areas need attention to create a more balanced, fulfilling life. Take a photo of your wheel – we’ll revisit it in the future to track your progress.

What’s your gap telling you? Let’s explore it together. Contact me at empowered@coachedbyernest.com to begin your journey toward closing that gap.

Purposeful Pathways May 7, 2025 Dear Purposeful Pathways Community, In times of national division, our instinct might be to withdraw or connect only with those who share our perspectives.
