The Gap Between Where You Are and Where You Want to Be

Hello Reader,

Have you ever felt like there’s an invisible force holding you back from the life you dream about? You can see where you want to be, but something keeps you rooted in place. This gap between your current reality and your potential isn’t a sign of failure – it’s an invitation to grow.

Consider this: Every time you scroll through social media and feel that twinge of envy, every time you catch yourself saying “someday,” and every time you compromise on your dreams, you’re actually receiving valuable information. These moments are your inner compass pointing toward what matters most to you.

I remember working with a client who kept a journal of these “twinge moments” for a month. What emerged was a clear pattern – she wasn’t craving other people’s lives; she was craving permission to live her own life more boldly. Once she recognized this, everything shifted. She started taking small but significant steps toward her goals, and within six months, she had launched her own business.

This Week’s Tool: The Life Wheel Assessment Take 15 minutes to complete this powerful visualization exercise: 1. Draw a large circle and divide it into 8 segments, labeling each with a key life area: Career, Health, Relationships, Personal Growth, Finance, Fun/Recreation, Physical Environment, and Life Purpose 2. Rate your satisfaction in each area from 1-10 (1 being lowest, 10 highest) 3. Draw a line in each segment at your rating number, creating a “wheel” 4. Connect the lines to see how smooth or bumpy your wheel would be if it were to roll

This visual representation helps identify which areas need attention to create a more balanced, fulfilling life. Take a photo of your wheel – we’ll revisit it in the future to track your progress.

What’s your gap telling you? Let’s explore it together. Contact me at empowered@coachedbyernest.com to begin your journey toward closing that gap.

We’ve looked at the gap between where we are and where we want to be, and we’ve discussed the importance of intentional living. Now it’s time for the most crucial step: taking action. Your best life isn’t going to arrive fully formed on your doorstep. It’s built decision by decision, action by action, day by day. But here’s the exciting part – you don’t have...

Purposeful Pathways March 19, 2025 Hello Reader, When was the last time you made a decision that was truly intentional? Not reactive, not habitual, but deeply considered and aligned with your core values? Intentional living is the difference between letting life happen to you and actively creating the life you want. Many of us pride ourselves on being good decision-makers, but we rarely examine the framework behind our choices. Are we choosing based on fear or growth? Comfort or potential?...

Purposeful Pathways March 5, 2025 Hello Reader, Are you merely existing, or truly living? It’s a confronting question that many of us avoid because we’re afraid of the answer. As your accountability partner, I want to challenge you to sit with this discomfort, because it’s often in these moments of honest self-reflection that transformation begins. Think about your typical day. Are you moving through it on autopilot, or are you consciously creating experiences that light you up? Are your...
